The Crack Meter consists of two overlapping precision plastic plates. The lower plastic plate is calibrated in millimeters, while the upper transparent plastic plate is marked with a thin cursor. Plastic Crack Meters are fixed to surfaces along the crack using screws and/or adhesives. The cursor on the upper plate aligns with the scale on the lower plate to monitor crack movements in millimeters. Measurements are recorded on a data form for tracking differences. They are made of impact-resistant polycarbonate.
