Vibrating Wire Standard Piezometer

Piezometers are important tools widely used to measure pore water pressure in soils and rocks and to monitor pressures in pump tests. These sensors, utilizing vibrating wire technology, measure pressure data with high precision and can transmit it over long distances without distortion in various challenging conditions. Additionally, they allow for thermal compensation with an internal temperature sensor.

These sensors contain a high-tension wire, and there is a direct relationship between the tension in the wire and the resonant frequency. Changes in pore water pressure induce variations in the tension of the wire, and these changes in frequency can be read through handheld terminals or data collection units. The insulated structure of the sensors provides resistance to electrical noise commonly encountered in geological applications such as wet wiring. For durability in the most demanding field conditions, the sensors are equipped with highly robust polyurethane-coated foil-screened cables.

Piezometers are available in various models and types to be used in different pressure ranges and field conditions. This diversity provides solutions tailored to different application needs and environmental conditions.
