Menard Pressuremeter

Pressuremeter Menard Apogeo Designed for reliable and precise measurements in soil and rock mechanics, the Apageo Pressuremeter Menard has been produced by APAGEO since 1984, using techniques inherited from Louis Menard. Manufactured in accordance with NF P 94-110-1 and NF EN ISO 22476-4 standards, this device is an ideal solution for in-situ soil pressure tests. Additionally, there are options for a tablet and software for digital data collection.

Apageo Pressuremeter Menard Models

Standard Menard Pressuremeter – 100 Bar Capacity: This model allows for precise static loading in situ. It features a control unit that regulates the pressure within the probe and monitors the loading stages. Connected by high-resistance tubes, this system is reliable and durable even in challenging field conditions.

Menard VHP (Very High Pressure) Pressuremeter – 140 Bar Capacity: In addition to the standard model, this device includes inner copper tubes with an operating pressure of over 200 bars and a high-pressure main regulator. Controlled only by the recording device during the test, this system is especially suitable for projects requiring high pressure.

Data Provided by Menard Pressuremeter Tests

Tests conducted with the Menard pressuremeter provide a stress-strain curve based on controlled pressure-induced volume change. This curve determines the following parameters under plane deformation conditions:

  • Menard Pressuremeter Modulus (Em)
  • Creep Pressure (Pf)
  • Menard Limit Pressure (Pl)

Application Areas

The Apageo Pressuremeter Menard is designed for use in various infrastructure projects such as roads, bridges, dams, tunnels, and building foundations. Additionally, it delivers excellent results in applications such as soil stability and durability analyses, foundation design and geotechnical engineering projects, assessment of groundwater effects, and pre-construction soil surveys.
