Crosshole Sonic Logging (CSL)

PILE TEST CHUM (Cross Hole Ultrasonic Monitor)

PILE TEST CHUM (Cross Hole Ultrasonic Monitor) uses the Crosshole Sonic Logging (CSL) method to check the integrity and quality of deep foundations. It provides high-resolution quality control, especially for concrete piles and deep foundations.

The CHUM system sends ultrasonic waves from a transmitter to a receiver pulled through water-filled access tubes embedded in the concrete. The travel time and energy measurements of these waves are directly dependent on the quality of the concrete and provide critical information about the material’s homogeneity.

Other methods supported by CHUM are Single Hole Ultrasonic Testing (SSL/SHUT) and Tomography (two- and three-dimensional).

CHUM is fully compliant with ASTM D6760-16, AFNOR NF P 94-160-1, and additional standards.

Main Features:

Ease of Use: The system, thanks to its user-friendly software, can typically be self-taught within a few hours without requiring additional training.

Automatic Gain Control (AGC): Provides simple, fast, and accurate performance under dynamic conditions by automatically adjusting signal levels, increasing measurement accuracy.

Modular Design: CHUM can connect to any PC via a standard USB port. This ensures compatibility with future computers and eliminates the obsolescence problem of embedded systems.

Reliability: All systems undergo pressure, vibration, and temperature quality control tests. CHUM’s casing is resistant to drops and impacts. Additionally, durable connectors and polyurethane cables are used for a long-lasting design. 3-Year Warranty!

High Efficiency: An experienced operator can test approximately 700 meters of cross-sections per hour. Fully automated reports are generated in MS Word format, and the entire system is designed to fit into carry-on luggage.

Uninterrupted PILE TEST and GEOSEQ Support:

•Free software support and updates (included).

•Assistance with analysis, interpretation, and reporting (included). We will prepare/review your initial reports to ensure they meet the highest standards.
